When there are questions hammering your mind, why should I fit in? How do I put everything in my mind in order? What is order anyway? When I realise, this isn’t necessarily just about me. This is actually about you and me.
How we think outside the box. How we are more than just one thing. How we fit in more than one space. How we play, how we learn, how we just have fun! How along the way, we somehow lose all those things that make us carefree and how we could claim them back.
As adults we are taught that playing is for children and a sign of an immature person. But isn’t that what we do every single day? Games are a big part of our lives. Either actual games we play to escape reality for a little bit, or games we play to deal with an employer, a coworker, our family or even ourselves. We play a part so that we don’t fall apart.
There is always something new to be learned. A new approach on a puzzle to sharpen your mind. A new strategy to thwart enemy combatants. A new quote that follows you for days until you realize what it meant to you. The joy when someone references a game, a book, a film or a series you love. The look and smile of recognition. You have found your people.
Imagine using all of that to expand your knowledge. Watching your comfort series to soothe yourself. Reading a new book to explore a new genre. Creating avatars representing you or what you would like to become. Playing something terrifying to confront your fears or something dark to work stuff out. Having someone to play with and talk about what you’ve seen, thought and felt.
Lessons we offer not, books neither. Let what you love be your textbook. Let what you are captivated by be your homework. Develop the familiar in new creative ways. Use your passions to build up your abilities and your hobbies to guide you towards your goals. Step up your game and conquer.
We are not all the same, but we are not all that different. What is different is the mindset in our sessions. The excitement in our interactions and the anticipation of what is to follow.
We have made our passions our profession and never looked back. Experience in traditional ways is always a plus but we took steps forward and created something fulfilling for us, essentially. A way to do what we love with what we love and help others reach their objective, whether it’s to learn, practise or just play.
The real game is to find a purpose . In the meantime you can play games just for fun. A purpose good enough..
